RECORD NUMBER OF OPEN VINEGAR PLANTS
Record number of Open vinegar plants: great number of visitors yesterday at 39 vinegar plants in the province of Modena, with the help of good weather throughout the day. A response that confirms the public’s great love for this precious food that encompasses the whole essence of the territory and that in each drop tells a different story, made of people, traditions and great passion.
The guided tours of the vinegar plants and the tastings were enriched with side events, such as tastings of other typical local products, background musical performances, cooking shows by local chefs, and grape treading and walks in the vineyard, where Lambrusco grapes and other vines are still ripening.
The “philosophical” preview that took place on Saturday 27th in Piazza XX Settembre in Modena had great emotional impact and was very successful. The chef Carlo Alberto Borsarini of the Consortium Modena at the Table, the philosopher Tullio Gregory, the director Piero Cannizzaro and the Jesuit Father Jean Paul Hernandez all participated in the afternoon talk show conducted by the Director of the Consorzio di Tutela Aceto Balsamico di Modena, Federico Desimoni.
Balsamic Vinegar has thus entered the heart of the city “in every sense”: as guest of honour in a stimulating moment of reflection about taste and of “balsamic” events based on local PDO and PGI products, and as the host that has reciprocated the hospitality and the warm welcome by inviting the city to its home with the Open Vinegar Plant initiative.
